The child benefit amounts
Since the introduction of the new Walloon child benefit system every child born from 2020 onwards receives a fixed amount of €185,24 (0-17 years old) or €197,19 (18-24 years old) per month, potentially increased with certain allowances depending on your personal situation.
Children born before 2020 keep the old amounts.

Indexation: according to the health index
The amounts of the Wallon child benefit are directly related to the Belgian health index. Whenever pivot index is exceeded, the Walloon child benefit amounts will increase accordingly. This pivot index was last exceeded in October 2023. The indexed amounts apply from November 2023 and will be paid out from December 2023.
